Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by two daughters, Deb Grove Whittington (Ken) of Florence and Dee Dee Hatfield-Rabon (Chris) of Dalzell; two granddaughters, Amanda Allen (Chris) of Okinawa, Japan and Jordan Smith (Loren) of Florence; two grandsons, John W Brown of Dalzell and Owen Whittington of Florence; one step-grandson, Alex Rabon of Camden; three great-grandsons, Ivan, Caden and Bryan; two sisters, Margie Gaylord (Mike) and Shirley Hatfield of Bishopville; one brother, Hugh C. "Bubba" Hatfield (Gloria) of Borden; and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Tuggle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mathis, Tony Smith, Andy Troublefield, Mark Troublefield, Clint Hatfield, and Gee Rabon.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3105 Byrd St., Dalzell.
