Obituary for James Cuttino "Jamie" Eldridge

James Cuttino “Jamie” Eldridge, 63, husband of Lynn Taylor Eldridge, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at his home.

Born September 3, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of the late William Cook Eldridge, Sr. and the late Lucie Anne Cuttino Eldridge. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Comforter where he was a former member of the Vestry and Senior Warden. He was formerly employed by Suburban Propane, Russell and Jeffcoat Real Estate, and ERA Wilder Realty. He was also an Appraiser for the Sumter County Assessor’s Office. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Kiwanis Club for 20 years, and was involved in the Cursillo Christian Renewal Retreat.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years; a son, Matthew James Eldridge of Sumter; sisters-in-law, Cindy Taylor and Mary Taylor Wyatt; and brother-in-law, Doug Taylor.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Cook “Billy” Eldridge, Jr.

A Burial and Communion service will be held 11 A.M. Friday at the Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. Marcus A. Kaiser, Sr. officiating. Private burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Ryan Taylor, Shaun Taylor, Alex Wyatt, and Adam Wyatt.

The family will receive friends at a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service.
