Obituary for Richard Lee Faddis

Richard Lee Faddis, 67, husband of Teresa Mink Faddis, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born March 10, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late Robert Vernon Faddis and the late Iris Greene Faddis. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of the D.A.V. Mr. Faddis was formerly employed by Inside-Out in Sumter and was currently employed by Charpy’s Pool Service.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years; two children, Richard Lee Faddis, Jr. (Susan) of Sumter and Melonie Faddis Schang (Tim) of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Faddis, Jack Faddis, and James Faddis; and a sister, Jeannie Ridinger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Vernon Faddis, Jr.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Ahtonen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
