Almeta Cribb Burkett, 85, widow of Olen Ellis Burkett, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
Born October 12, 1932, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Arnie Miles Cribb and the late Retha Faircloth Cribb. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Conference where she volunteered in many capacities include pianist. She was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Ellis Burkett (Donna) and Mark Lance Burkett (Deborah) all of Sumter; a daughter, Sheila Burkett Parnell of Hartwell, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Olen Burkett; two daughters, Debra Burkett
Kacho and Janis Burkett Feazelle; a brother, Derwood Cribb; and a sister, Myrtis Strickland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Bowman and the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Floyd and Wade Parnell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Green Acres Assembly of God and other times at the home, 5437 Broad St. Extension.
