Carra Ann Scarborough, 84, wife of the Rev. James W. Scarborough, Sr., died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.
Born May 1, 1933, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Etson Rogers and the late Annie McLeod Rogers. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years of the home; nine children, David Scarborough (Dorothy) of Goose Creek, Ricky Scarborough (Sandie) of La Porte, Texas, Sandra Jeffcoat (Robert) of St. Stephens, James Scarborough, Jr. (Julie) of Sumter, Cheryl Summers (Marty) of Pawley’s Island, Paulette Smith (Mark) of Piedmont, Vickie Holland (Richard) of St. George, Kevin Scarborough (Marita) of Summerville, and Mark Scarborough (Trina) of Sumter; 44 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four brothers and a sister all of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; a sister; and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Scarborough, the Rev. Tim Hinson, and the Rev. Sammy Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at Lakewood Baptist Church and other times at the home, 4605 Wrangler Trail, Sumter.
