Dale Hatfield Barkley, 76, widow of Cecil E. Barkley, died Thursday, August 3, 2017, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

Born March 9, 1941, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Bernard J. Hatfield and the late Carrie E. Hatfield. She was formerly a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene and presently a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children, Laura Nesbitt (Garry), Angela Graham (David), Mark E. Barkley, and Mandy Rich (Russell) all of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma H. Timmons of Pinewood; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, J.B. Hatfield, Leroy Hatfield, and Butch Hatfield; and a sister, Patricia Hatfield.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson and the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Nazarene Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Mixon, Terry Coleman, Kent Taylor, Garry Franklin, Mark Prescott, and Scott Ridgeway.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Southside Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Angela Graham, 2715 YaYa Way, Sumter.
