Betty P. Duncan, widow of Charles E. “Chuck” Duncan, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at her home.

Born February 25, 1934, in Lyons, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late James Leonard Porter and the late Lulua May Oden Porter. She retired from the Civil Service at Shaw A.F.B.-Civil Engineering Contracting Division.

Survivors include; two sons, Monte Dean Duncan (Mia) and Craig Lynn Duncan (Barbara) both of Sumter; six grandchildren, Charles Wade Duncan, Warren Leonard Duncan, James Verzwyvelt (Bonnie), Dina Verzwyvelt, Melissa Strong (Gary), and Brandy Griggs (Steven); four great grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Sue Duncan; a niece, Tammy Crooks; and great niece, McKayla Crooks.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dane Deatherage officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home.
