Obituary for Charles Edward Webb

Charles Edward Webb, 94, husband of 55 years to the late Eunice Webb, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his home in North Charleston.

Born July 13, 1928, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Don Beckelheimer and the late Ruby Cline Beckelheimer. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran. He later retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a longtime member of Northwoods Baptist Church. Mr. Webb was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to golf, garden and grew the best tomatoes. He also loved to read western novels. His favorite author was Louis L’Amour.

Survivors include two sons, Phil Webb (Karen) of Sumter and Donny Webb (Belinda) of Chapin; grandchildren, Donald Webb (April), Journey Webb, Emily Webb, and Destin “Xan” Webb; great-grandchildren, Donald Webb, III, Zayne Webb, Zoey Webb, and Aidan Webb; and sister-in-law, Beatrice Bonderer of Gastonia, NC. Also surviving are granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Beth and Gwyneth Lawrence, who lived with him and lovingly cared for him for over thirteen years.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Doug Webb and Ronald Webb; and a grandson, Ronnie Webb.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Burial with military honors will be in the Wells Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 P.M. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
