Obituary for Heyward Perry Benenhaley Sr.
Perry Benenhaley, Sr., 80, husband of Colleen Rainwater Benenhaley, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home.
Born September 29, 1942, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Heyward Nathaniel Benenhaley and the late Stella Miller Benenhaley. He attended Springbank Baptist Church and retired from Gold Kist. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years; two children, Cindy Payseur (Kevin) of Belmont, NC and Perry Benenhaley, Jr. (Ellie) of Sumter; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Randy Benenhaley of Sumter; and three sisters, Janie Wallace (Robert) of Lexington, Sybil Gibbs (Robert) of Sumter, and Cherie Mitchum (Mike) of Sumter.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Reynolds; a brother, Wayne Benenhaley; and a sister, Geraldine Kauses.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating..
