Phillip Isaac Rogers, 75, husband of Debbie J. Brown Rogers, died Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia.
Born December 21, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Mendel Rogers and the late Maude Brown Rogers. He was a born-again Christian who loved and served the Lord. He was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church. He retired from Eaton Corporation after more than 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years; three children, Phillip Mendel Rogers, Melissa Ann Vance (Doug), and Jennifer Rogers all of Sumter; three grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Vance, Christopher Michael Vance, and David Izak Rogers; a brother, John Richard “Jack” Rogers of Sumter; two sisters, Brenda McKnight and Dorothy Boykin both of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Terry Byrd and the Rev. Joey Durham officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church cemetery near Bishopville.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
