Obituary for Anna Lou Atkinson
Anna Lou McElveen Atkinson, 68, widow of David L. Atkinson, died Monday, January 16, 2023, at the home of her son.
Born July 27, 1954, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Russell McElveen and the late Bell Kirby McElveen. She retired from Pilgrim’s Pride.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Hatchell (Mandy) of Pinewood and Larry Hatchell of Sumter; three grandchildren, Larry Gavin Hatchell, John Hatchell, and Sarah Hatchell; two stepdaughters, Candi Jane and Angel Atkinson both of Sumter; a brother, Edward McElveen; three sisters, Rutt Conyers (Red), Mary Coats, and Brenda McElveen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five siblings.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
