Obituary for Paul C. Gardner
Paul C. Gardner was a passionate man of life. His strong faith in Christ was evidenced by his love for others and for his family.
Paul was born in Matthews, NC to Edna Mae and William Harris Gardner on August 28th, 1935. He was married to Nancy Blanton on January 8th, 1956. As a member of First Baptist Church Sumter, SC for 55 years, he enjoyed faithfully serving his church and singing in the choir. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, horses and his small farm in Dalzell, SC.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Blanton Gardner and his children, Cindy Gardner James and husband, William, Mark Copeland Gardner and wife, Anne Maria, and Paula Gardner Ross and husband, Henry; siblings, Bobby Gardner, Carl (Buddy) Gardner, and Phil (Edward) Gardner; grandchildren, Ellen Peek, Will James and wife, Anna, Ariel Gardner, Scott Ross and wife, Marisa, Thomas Ross, and David Ross; great-grandchildren, Millie James, Will James, Ford Peek, and Clay Peek.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, November 17th, 2022, at Sumter First Baptist Church, 107 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC. Visitation will follow the service.
