Obituary for Deborah Jean Hicks (McLeod)
Deborah Jean McLeod Hicks, 70, died Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born October 5, 1952, in Sumter, she was the daughter of Jacqueline Ingram McLeod and the late Freddie McLeod Jr. Deborah began a 33 year banking career in 1978 at NBSC. Over the course of her career, she held several accounting services positions and established close and rewarding friendships. She was a member of New Start Community Church of the Nazarene where she served on the board and was an active member of the Ladies’ Bible Study. She was devoted to her family and church and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her mother; a daughter, Carolyn “Kari” Horne; two grandsons, Michael Horne and Christopher “Kris” Horne; and four brothers, Larry McLeod and his wife, Madeline, Craig McLeod and his wife, Tammy, Steve McLeod, and Paul McLeod.
A funeral service will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Tony Lupton and Pastor Donna Green officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Start Community Church of the Nazarene, 4686 J.W. Rhames Rd., Manning, SC 29102.
