Rodney Scott Stapler, 58, husband of Michelle Renee Farmer Stapler, died Monday October 10, 2022, at his home.
Born August 6, 1964, in New Hope, Alabama, he was the son of Wilta Janice Keel Stapler and the late Rodger Stapler. Mr. Stapler worked with Sylvamo (formerly International Paper Corp.) He attended Long Branch Baptist Church and was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was with the US Air Force 363 Tactical Fighter Wing and a veteran of the Gulf War. He was a loving husband and father.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 34 years, and his mother of New Hope, AL, include three children, Justin Stapler, Ryan Stapler, and Ashley Stapler; a sister, Sherrie Cooper (Phillip) of New Hope, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Byrd, André McBride, Phillip Cooper, Roy Jennings, Frank Adams, and Earnest Major.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
