Obituary for Mary H. Thomas (Hardy)
Mary H. Thomas, 90, widow of Samuel Davis Thomas, Sr., died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her home.
Born October 5, 1932, in New Zion, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Dillworth Hardy and the late Margaret “Maggie” Elizabeth Coker Hardy. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She retired from Lee, Erter, Wilson, and Holler Law Firm.
Survivors include three children, Samuel Davis “Davey” Thomas, Jr. (Wanda C. Thomas), William Errol Thomas, and Tonya Kay Thomas all of Sumter; five grandchildren, Heather Thomas Kurzenberger, Samuel Davis “Trey” Thomas III, Samantha Taylor Brown, Amanda Thomas Berry, and William Errol Thomas, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Sarah Jane, and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Laura Whitt officiating.
Pallbearers will be Trey Thomas, William Thomas, Thomas Berry, Robbie Hardy, Ronnie Floyd, and Tony Hardy.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
