Merrill D. Warner, 80, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born September 13, 1941, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Plum D. Warner and the late Ethel Lorine Troublefield Warner. He was a singer and recording artist and worked with CMA/Fan Fair.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Bales (Shannon) and Shannon Perry both of Murfreesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Austin Powell, Spence Powell, Ethan Powell, Jayden Bales, Courtney Swenson, and Alex Perry; two great-grandchildren, Braelyn Perry and Oakleigh Swenson; a sister, Betty W. Rickard of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; three brothers; and his former wife, Margaret Owens Costner.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Friday at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at Crosswell Baptist Church.
