Obituary for Oliver Bert Heath

Oliver Bert Heath, 94, widower of Dorothy Jean Brockington Heath and Edith Johnson Reeves Heath, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Agape Care in Columbia.

Born August 29, 1927, in Ayden, NC, he was a son of the late Thomas Heath and the late Sue Summrell Heath. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. Mr. Heath served four years in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Air Force after an additional twenty-two years of service. Mr. Heath was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked with T.A. Davis Nissan where he served as Service Manager for more than twenty years. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and Atlanta Braves Baseball.

Survivors include two children, Gaile Heath of Columbia, and Michael Heath (Barbara) of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Lauren Heath Craig (Alex); one brother, Thomas Heath of Ayden; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Hannah Heath Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. John McLeod. Burial with full military honors will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon Stephens Funeral Home.
