Janet Louise Pate Goldstein, 70, wife of David Joseph Goldstein, died Sunday, July 10, 2022, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born March 12, 1952, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Levi Pate and the late Nellie Louise “Fannie” Richardson Witherspoon. She was a 1970 graduate of Edmunds High School and received a BSN from Boston University. She was a member of Williamstown First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Goldstein retired as a nursing supervisor and clinical coordinator at Temple University Hospital. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years; three children, Erica L. Hovis (Michael) of Pinehill, NJ, Paul Goldstein (Becky) of Mauldin, and Jason Goldstein (Mari) of Fairfax, VA; five grandchildren, Ashlynn Hovis, Leah Zarlenga, Jake Sawyer, Claire Sawyer, and Abigail Goldstein; and numerous other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, July 30, 2022, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, www.stroke.org or to a charity of one’s choice.
