Obituary for Cathryn Brenda Rogers (Grant)
Cathryn Brenda Grant Rogers, 79, beloved wife of Frank D. Rogers, of Columbia, passed away May 21, 2022, at her home.
Brenda was born on August 4, 1942, to Fred and Elease Grant in Ashwood. She was a 1960 graduate of Ashwood Central High. Brenda and Frank were married on February 12, 1961, and went on to have two children, Frank O. Rogers and Bryan P. Rogers. After many years of serving the grocery store industry, she retired with 28 years at Food Lion. In her spare time, Brenda loved being outside in the garden. She was an avid cook, and loved her time spent in the kitchen cooking for her family. She thrived most when spending time with her children and grandchildren; they were her greatest joy!
Brenda leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Frank D. Rogers, her brother, Hewitt Grant (Linda); her sister, Gwyn “Doll” Jones; her beloved children, Frank O. Rogers (Tammy) of York, SC, and Bryan P. Rogers of Summerville, SC; also, her granddaughter, Taylor R Flanagan (Sean) of York, SC; and two great grandchildren, Remi Cole and Abram James Flanagan.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny W. Grant.
A graveside service will be held at Ashwood Baptist Church on May 26th
at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ashwood Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 265, Bishopville, SC 29010.
