Obituary for Lois Bradley Chandler

Lois Bradley Chandler, 89, widow of Charles E. Chandler, Sr., died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at home.

Born in Sumter, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas “Tom” Bradley and the late Lorna Tindal Bradley. She retired from Sumter Machinery Co. after 38 years of service. After the passing of her husband, Charles, Lois continued as President of his business, Gamecock Exterminating Company, until her health issues required her to step away in 2016. She loved decorating and gardening and was a member of the Evening Garden Club. Her favorite event was decorating for the Holiday Tour each Christmas. Lois was also a long-time member of Bible Fellowship Church.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Cathy Ray Chandler of Rock Hill, SC; two grandsons, Clinton Harrison Chandler (Grace) of Charlotte, NC and Clayton Edward Chandler of Rock Hill, SC; one great-grandchild, Jane Margaret Chandler; a brother, Jackie Tindal Bradley (Betty) of Sumter; two sisters, Marie Bradley Phillips and Elaine Bradley McLeod (Ernest) all of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Shirley Bradley of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Charles Edward Chandler, Jr.; a sister, Betty Jean Kelly; and a brother, William T. “Billy” Bradley.

A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Howard “Butch” Kelly, Jr., Mike Kelly, Daniel “Danny” Kelly, Charles W. Bradley, Christopher G. Phillips, and Robert T. Bradley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Gamecock Exterminating Company.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
