Obituary for Robert Elmer Patnode
Robert Elmer Patnode, 95, husband of Helen Neal Brown Patnode, died Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born November 29, 1926, in Schuyler, NY, he was a son of the late Elmer Patnode and the late Leda Marcous Patnode. Mr. Patnode was a member of St Anne-St. Jude Catholic Church in Sumter. He was formerly a member of St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church in Lincolnton, NC. Mr. Patnode served in the U. S. Navy. He was retired from the New York State Education Department where he was a public-school teacher.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include her five children, Kaye Rogers of Sumter, Lewis W. Brown, Jr. (JoAnne) of Alcolu, Donald Neal Brown, Sr. (Lois) of Summerton, Ann B. LeGrand (Rosser) of Sumter, and Lisa B. Burns (Michael) of Summerton; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church with the Rev. Giovannie Nunez, CRM officiating.
A graveside committal service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
