Edgar Rogerson DuRant, 63, husband of Wynn Dee Weeks DuRant, died Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Gardens at Sumter.
Born September 4, 1958, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harrell Eugene DuRant, Sr. and the late Mae Rogerson DuRant. He was a member of Harmony Church and retired from Carolina Furniture Works. He loved the Clemson Tigers.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Rogerson DuRant (fiancé, Kamryn Shaffer), Kayla DuRant, Kelsey DuRant, and Kelli DuRant; three grandchildren, Brayden DuRant, Abner DuRant, and Cash DuRant; a brother, Harrell E. “Gene” DuRant, Jr. (Jeannie) of Sumter; a sister, Carole Copeland (Fred) of Batesburg; and six nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Harmony Church with the Rev. Dan Keaton officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jody Ortmann, John Gall, Bert Smith, Ken Chandler, Royce Combs, and T.C. Rodgers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
