Obituary for Sandra L. Newman
Sandra L. Newman, 75, wife of Leonard E. Newman, Sr., died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at her home.
Born September 3, 1946, in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Robert Taylor and the late Helen Thompson Taylor Knotts. She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. She was employed as a registered nurse having worked at Tuomey Hospital and later as a home health nurse. She was a member of the MS Society.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years; two children, Jennifer Newman Thames of Roanoke, VA and Len Newman (Lori) of Pickens; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sherry Shields (Gene) of Charleston and Debbie Kleinknecht (Gary) of WA.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harold VanBuren “Van” Thames, Jr.
A family graveside will be held in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
