Obituary for Betty Young Caldwell

Betty Young Caldwell, 89, wife of David Max Caldwell, died Sunday, March 14, 2021 at a local nursing facility.

Born September 16, 1931, in Sanford, Florida, she was a daughter of the late William Howard Young and the late Martha Jane McGaughey Young. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She attended the Emory School of Nursing and was a licensed Registered Nurse. She was a loving wife and mother that enjoyed time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years; two daughters, Kay Greer (Paul) of Sumter, and Nancy Roe (Alan) of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Matthew Johnson (Maria), Heather Quinlan (Jim), Hannah Denithorne, Laura Kline (Justin), and Michael Roe; four great grandchildren, Michael Quinlan, Connor Quinlan, Oliver Johnson, and Lucas Johnson; and one sister, Nancy J. Young Brown (Eugene) of Fairfield, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Reed officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
