Obituary for Charles Caston "Buck" Ingram Sr.

Charles Caston “Buck” Ingram, Sr., 78, husband of Susan Carol Gamble Ingram, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born June 20, 1942, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Caston Durant Ingram and the late Ruth Aline Rhame Stone. Mr. Ingram retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He also owned and operated Ingram and Associates Tax Firm. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 57 years include three children, Charles C. “Chuck” Ingram, Jr. (Sandra) of Canton, GA, Christopher D. Ingram (Terry) of Sumter, and Craig G. Ingram (Noelle) of Cartersville, GA; five grandchildren, Delaney Elizabeth Ingram, Logan Christopher Ingram, Dayton Stokes Ingram, William Connor Ingram, and Maisie Nicole Ingram; one sister, Debra Stone Alford (Mike) of Sumter; and one brother, George McDuffie Stone (Sylvia) of Camden.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Taylor Ingram.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of his wife, 845 Gordonia Drive.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
