Obituary for Larry Leroy Dickerson
Larry Leroy Dickerson, 64, husband of Shelia H. Dickerson, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his home.
Born September 13, 1956, in Sumter, he was a son of the late William Leroy Dickerson and the late Mary Elizabeth Bailey Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson was a member of Crossbridge Christian Church. He worked with Piggly Wiggly Stores for many years and later worked in Material Management Dept. at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 42 years include two children, Shannon Amerson of Sumter, and Dana Dickerson of Lagrange, GA; two granddaughters, Alexis Amerson, and Isabelle Amerson; one brother, William Dickerson (Sandy) of Sumter; one sister, Patsy Dailey (Doug) of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Boykin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Brown, Pastor Steve Shirley, and Pastor Bryan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Boykin, Christopher Boykin, Brandon Coley, Brad Dickerson, Anthony Amerson, and Jeryl Hauptman.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Daisy Gray, Pam Smith, and the staff of Prisma Health Tuomey Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
