Obituary for Robert Cromer "Robbie" Jones
Robert Cromer “Robbie” Jones, 65, of West Columbia, SC died Friday, January 1, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born September 20, 1955, in Manning, he was a son of the late Ashley Gibson Jones and the late Katherine Cromer Jones. He retired as the Director of Agency Services from the Department of Agriculture after 20 years of service. He was a member of Saluda River Baptist Church in West Columbia.
Survivors include his sister, Martie Jones Hatchell; special friend, Gary McGhee; nephews, Ty Alan Green (Mary Beth), Dr. Bryan Everette Green (Amy), and Matthew Lee Hatchell; step-nephews, Hank Hatchell (Suzanne), Brett Hatchell (Elaine); step-niece, Celeste Hatchell; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2021, in the Evergreen Cemetery in Summerton, SC.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask. Eye contact and loving and encouraging words can be as meaningful to the family as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169.
