Obituary for Donald Lyle Nichols

Donald Lyle Nichols, 74, husband of Buaki Suwanakee Scoggins, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at his home.

Born September 16, 1945, in Willow Township, Iowa, he was a son of the late Lyle G. Nichols and the late Eula Irene Carson Nichols. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a truck driver and former owner and operator of the Oriental Quick Stop in Bishopville. He was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Riders.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years; two daughters, Jaruwan “Ja” Siebers (Bill) and Susan French (Jeffery) both of Irmo; seven grandchildren, Aiden Siebers, Anna Siebers, Supachai “Max” Siebers; Supannee “Miu” Capps, Lilly French, Julia French, and Cooper French; a sister-in-law, Krystal Nichols of Iowa; and two nephews, Todd Nichols and John Nichols.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Nichols.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-
Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
