OUR LOVE STORY

Stationed at Shaw, Carroll met Rose, both 41, with three children from her first marriage. My husband passed in 1967 when we were thirty-four and I was devastated and did not know what in the world I would do. I surely would depend on the Lord and every day I prayed, “Lord if there is somebody else for me please help me meet the right person and help me to know it”.

Seven years later, November 24, 1973 at 3 o’clock, I was introduced to Carroll by Stan Neff, my neighbor and Carroll’s co-worker.

It was love at first sight. The minute we met, a small voice said, “This is the one”. Two weeks later, December 24th, Christmas Eve at 3 o’clock, he was putting a beautiful diamond on my finger. We were married March 9, 1974 and we celebrated our 46th anniversary this year.

We enjoyed collecting, traveling, going to the gym, our 31 cruises, but especially our family cruise Thanksgiving 2011.

Well today is August 30, 2020 and the love of my life passed like he lived, quiet and easy, just calmly quit breathing. I was with him all day alone. I sang “Jesus Loves Me” and “Amazing Grace” and talked to him about our amazing and blessed forth-six years together.

I also told him how blessed we were that the Lord has let us live to be in our late 80’s and it probably wouldn’t be long before I would be joining him and then we would be together forever. Oh, God is so good.

Thank you, Dear Lord, for answering my prayer and putting Carroll Price one of the best people I have ever known in my life, and his precious children in our lives. Should everybody be as blessed. God is so good all the time to us all.

When I pass away Carroll’s ashes will be placed upon my heart and we will be together always. I love that.
