Obituary for Kimberly Robin McElveen Mathis (Floyd)

Kimberly Robin McElveen Mathis, 56, died Monday, July 6, 2020 at Edisto Post-Acute Care in Orangeburg.

Born October 27, 1963, in Jacksonville, FL, she was a daughter of the late Frank Floyd and the late Newell Faulling Floyd. She loved animals and helping raise funds for animal rescues and shelters.

Survivors include three children, Allison McElveen of Sumter, Dean McElveen (Brittany) of Wedgefield, and Ashley Long (Eric) of Sumter; eight grandchildren, Mary-Michal, Olin, Caden, Aubreah, Colton, Cash, Amelia, and Andey; two brothers, Eddie Floyd of Columbia, and Phillip Floyd of Florida; two sisters, Linda Floyd of Summerton, and Julie Berry of Manning; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Thornton and Jackie Urquhart.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating.

Pallbearerswill be Dean McElveen, Caden McElveen, Jim Miles , Joseph Kennedy, Eric Long, Jason Bilton

The family will receive friends at the home of Eric and Ashley Long, 495 E. Brewington Road, Sumter.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
