Ervin Hines, 85, husband of Fairey Swann Hines, died Monday, June 01, 2020, at his home.
Born December 6, 1934, in Yonkers, NY, he was a son of the late James Hines and the late Emma Conwell Hines. Mr. Hines was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a retired upholsterer.
Survivors include his wife of Sumter; two children, Julie Millette Bell (Terry) of Miami, FL and Cassie Renee Brownlee (Norman) of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Montero Ward, Peli Woods, Nicholas Bell, Risa Hines, Kateland Carmean, Alicia Murphy, Kevin Bryant Hines, Jr., Nolan Brownlee, Charmyn Edwards; six great-grandchildren; two step-children, Brian Mercer and Kim Charles; a sister, Gladys Francis; a brother, Melvin Hines; a niece, Sonya Hines-Hall; and a nephew, Leon Johnson.
He was preceded in death by two children, Kevin Bryant Hines and Enid Nadine Hines.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel.
The family will receive friends at the home.
