Obituary for Daniel Francis Feeney Sr.

Daniel Francis Feeney, Sr., 76, husband of Judith M. Feeney, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at his home in Lee County.

Born December 10, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Daniel M. Feeney and the late Berdene Kline Feeney. Mr. Feeney retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service and was a Vietnam War veteran. Following his career in the Air Force, he obtained his Master’s Degree and became a teacher for Sumter School District #2. He also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church at Oswego.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years; three children, Susan Klopfer (Thomas) of NY, Linda Cornell (Wayne) of Lugoff, and Daniel Feeney, Jr. (Tammy) of Lee County; three grandchildren, Jessica McKinley (David) of Pinewood, Stephaney Feeney (Michael Santagata) of Lee County, and Rebecca Feeney (Brian Watts) of Lee County; five great-grandchildren, Alyxis McKinley, David McKinley, Mila Santagata, Liam Santagata, and Caroline Watts; a sister, Judyann Evely (Joe) of Manning; a special niece, Jamie McAlister of Johnsonville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Feeney.

A public memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date.
