Obituary for Lonnie Leverne Hinson
Lonnie Leverne Hinson, 78, beloved husband of Linda Kay Williams Hinson, went to meet his Heavenly Father on April 9,202, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Sing Lonnie Hinson and the late Mae Nell Hinson. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Lonnie was a retired superintendent with Thompson and Turner Construction Company of Sumter. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and farm. His passion was his children and the love of his life was his wife of 59 years, Linda. He will be remembered as a loving husband, extraordinary Daddy, remarkable Granddad, a very amusing Great-Grandad, and a trustworthy dependable friend.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by four children, Tammy Thames (Tommy), Lonnie Hinson, Jr. (Patty), Lora Sorenson (Rob), and Steve Hinson( Kristine); seven grandchildren, Ashley Thames, Ryan Sorenson, Jessica Galloway, Tiffany Thames, Will Hinson, Krista Hinson, and Taylor Hinson; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Thames, Harper Galloway, and Hinson Galloway; and three sisters, Judy Giles of Delaware, Annelle Orphan of Florence, and Brenda Garris of Sumter.
A private graveside service will be held. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
