Laurelle Singletary Hartin, 91, widow of Edward Williams Hartin, Jr., died Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home.
Born March 23, 1929, in Wedgefield, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Willis Singletary and the late Clara May Player Singletary. Mrs. Hartin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She retired from Sumter School District 17, where she served as a secretary at Wilder Elementary and Crosswell Drive Elementary, after 23 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Windham and her husband, Mike of Sumter, and Honey Truesdale and her husband, Harold of Manning; four grandchildren, Christy Hall, Stacie Windham, Jay Truesdale, and Nancy Hernandez; and one great-grandson, Riley Hall.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis LeRoy Singletary and Livingston Andrew Singletary; and one sister, Lucille S. Andrews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph R. James, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home, 718 Reynolds Road.
