Obituary for Velma Marie Prater (Jordan)
Velma Maria Jordan Prater, 43, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her home.
Born January 17, 1977, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Thomas J. Jordan and Wanda Long Jordan. She attended Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors, in addition to her parents of Mayesville, include three children, Crystal Montanna Prater, Ashley Maria Prater, and Jason Lee Prater, II all of Sumter; two sisters, Michelle J. Hodge (Richard) and Jeannie L. Edwards (Stacy) both of Mayesville; maternal grandparents, Rev. Venning and Frances Long of Mayesville; an aunt, Sandra L. Martin (Jerry) of Greenville; three nieces, DaCoda Smith, Ruby Jean Hughes, and Mary Edwards; one nephew, StacyJo Edwards; and three great nieces, Ryleigh, Harleigh, and Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jonathan Hodge.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Wells Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Driggers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
