Obituary for Jeilda Alice "Jill" Buckner (Lee)
Jeilda “Jill” Alice Lee Buckner, 78, wife of Jerry Duane Buckner, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 09, 2020 at her home.
Born December 9, 1941, in Latta, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Lee and the late Emaline Dew Lee. Mrs. Buckner was a proud graduate of USC where she earned her business degree and was a majorette. A resident of Sumter for more than 50 years, she owned and operated several businesses, as well as training show Pomeranians. Mrs. Buckner was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years; two children, Jack Buckner of Sumter, and Melissa Dawne Buckner of Columbia; two grandchildren, Jordan Buckner, and Jacklyn Buckner; two great grandchildren, Alex Buckner, and Ellena Buckner; one brother, Jeff W. Lee, Sr. (Shirley) of Florence; one sister, Katie Lee Elliott of Florence; and a sister-in-law, Emily J. Lee of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John R. Lee, and William Dwight Lee.
To honor and remember Mrs. Buckner’s life, the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
