Obituary for Herbert Wilburn Morrison
Herbert Wilburn Morrison, 91, widower of Pauline Whitaker Morrison, passed away Friday, January 03, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born November 6, 1928, in Shorterville, Alabama, he was a son of the late Harvey Morrison and the late Mary Fortson Morrison. He was a member of Springbank Baptist Church. He was a Korean War veteran. He loved life and he loved music.
Survivors include his son, Jim Webb of Augusta, GA; daughter, Elaine Hood (Larry) of Dalzell, SC; grandchildren, Jamie Hood & Stacy Tisdale (Glenn) of Dalzell, SC, Amanda Hennessy (Jamie) of Jacksonville FL, and Justin Sancken, Sarah Sancken, and Kristin Sancken of Augusta GA; great grandchildren, Trey Tisdale, Bella Tisdale, and Gabby Tisdale of Dalzell, SC, and Harper Hennessy and James Daniel Hennessy of Jacksonville FL; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Larry and Elaine Hood.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alan Strater, Ronnie Benenhaley, Leon Lucas, Al Benenhaley, Edison Aldridge, Sr., and John Marinko.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the D&L Diner’s Breakfast Group.
Memorials may be made to Springbank Baptist Church, P.O. Box 159, Dalzell, SC 29040 or to the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville, dsaj.org, in honor of James Daniel Hennessy.
