Obituary for George W Griffin
George W. Griffin, 72, died Thursday, December 19, 2019, at his home.
Born January 2, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Frank Griffin and the late Florence Timmons Griffin. He was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a retired carpenter. George was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Riverside Hunting Club and Gamecock Fishing Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Griffin Thomas of Sumter and Stephanie Griffin of CA; and two grandchildren, Ainsley Thomas and Taegan Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bill Tschorn and the Rev. Tyrone Mitchum officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Cox, Luke Bartlette, Chris Griffin, Jeffrey Timmons, Jordan Timmons, Robert Kutschera, Scotty White, and Michael Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter.
