Obituary for Clarice Hope Boler
Clarice H. Boler, born June 13, 1953 in New York, NY, was a daughter of the late Clarence Glover Boler Sr. and Annie Kate Jones Boler. Ms. Boler was the oldest of five siblings and three God siblings who she loved very dearly. While growing up in New York City, NY, Ms. Boler went to public school and graduated from Julia Richman High school in June of 1971. She also attended Hunter College to study Nursing which she later completed at USC of Sumter in Sumter, South Carolina.
Yes, Clarice Boler was born in New York City, NY but she fell in love with the small city life. She touched the hearts and souls of everyone she came in contact with. Ms. Boler took great pride and honor in the health care profession which she missed dearly after retiring. Helping others was not only her profession but one of the many great qualities that made up her character. A loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need also is an understatement to what she did for everyone around her. Ms. Boler was always a pleasure to be around. She was known for her movie nights and exciting story she told of great memories. Clarice H. Boler will be greatly missed.
Her Survivors include two children, Jewel Dixon and Everett Dixon both of Wedgefield; a brother, Rodney Boler of Sumter; and a sister, Maggie A. Boler of Sumter; three God siblings, Donald (Lisa) James, Troy (Jamelia) James, and Sharon (Darren) Johnston all of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Destiny Ragin, Sevetrice Boler, Kiara Boler, Angelique Dixon, Eljah Boler, Faith Henry, Taliana Boler, and Nasiah Boler; a niece, Taylor Ford; nephews Chris Johnson, Tylor Ford, Dominique Burns and many more just to name a few. Two aunts, Doris Boler and Dorothy Boler; one uncle, William Boler; a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
