Obituary for Joye Dean Odom (Hucks)
Joye Dean Hucks Odom, 82, wife of the late Claude Odell Odom, Jr., passed away on September 5, 2019 in the presence of beloved family members.
A daughter of the late Joseph Benson Hucks and Ruth Irene Johnson, Mrs. Odom was born on December 7, 1936 in Mullins, SC.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J.B. Hucks, Sr.; four sisters, Betty Barnhill, Ann Puckhaber, Sharion Johnson, and Oveline Gail Bean; a son, Tony Odom; and a grandson, Christopher Noes.
Surviving are a sister, Doris Stokes; two daughters, Deborah Chappell and Wanda Arnett Fitch (Don); a son Gary Odom; a special daughter-in-law, Anna Glass Odom; four grandchildren, Melissa Scott, Glenn Chappell, Lauren Quinn (Allen), and Alicia Odom; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Dawkins and Mason Henderson; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Vi Hudson. She was loved and will be missed by all.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 21st in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. John E. McLeod officiating.

The family will receive friends September 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Wanda and Don Fitch, 2096 Harborview Drive, Sumter SC.
