Obituary for Benjamin J. Chua
Benjamin J. Chua, 61, husband of Mona Hatton Chua, died Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born May 11, 1958, in Manila, Philippines, he was a son of the late Lou T. Chua and the late Nieves Juntilla Chua. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He was an avid gun collector and a motorcycle enthusiast. He also was employed by the Eaton Corporation. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years; two children, Tara Ramirez-Ramos (Douglas) of Las Vegas, NV and Scott Chua (Amy) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Spencer Chua, Audrey Chua, Kaia Ramirez-Ramos, and Kaden Ramirez-Ramos; five sisters, Carolina, Zenaida, Lea, Teresa, and Gloria; and a brother, Antonio.
A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 4 P.M. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Greg Pressley and the Rev. Brandon Barkley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
