Obituary for Betty Nesbitt Shriver
Betty Nesbitt Shriver, 86, widow of Freddie E. Shriver, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born October 26, 1932, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late James Purdy Nesbitt and the late Ida Logan Nesbitt.
Survivors include three children, James “Jimmy” Shriver, Dickie Shriver (Nita), and Vickie Lynn Bethea (Randy) all of Sumter; three granddaughters, Samantha Hodge (Lance), Grace Taylor Bethea, and Cindel Shriver; a great-grandchild, McKenlie Hodge; and a brother, Charles Nesbitt (Carol) of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James P. Nesbitt, Jr. and Brainard D. Nesbitt.
A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday in the Wells Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:30 P.M. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
