Obituary for Lawrence G Fowler

Lawrence Gerard Fowler, 66, husband of Kathryn Geddings Fowler, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born January 12, 1953, in Detroit MI, he was a son of the late Max Young Fowler and the late Dorothy Marie Weakland Fowler. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He worked with EnerSys Battery and later retired from CSX Railroad.

Survivors include his wife of Wedgefield; two sons, David Fowler and Timmy Fowler both of Aberdeen, SD; a daughter, Angel Fowler (Chris) of Rincon, GA; a step-son, Mike Love (Adrienne) of Sumter; three step-daughters, Jackie Hassler (Lonnie), Mary Sue Laird (Wayne), and Amber Boone (Stanley) all of Sumter; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ellen Monarch of Sumter and Betty Hearter (Butch) of O’Fallen, IL.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with military honors to be rendered at 4 P.M. Private burial will be in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
