Obituary for Henry W Todd Sr.

Henry W. Todd, Sr., 80, husband of the late Linda Kay Todd, died Monday, June 10, 2019.

Born March 31, 1939, in Conway, he was a son of the late William Quincy Todd and the late Lena Mae Gandy Todd. Mr. Todd was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for more than 48 years where he served as a deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He was also ordained and served as Minister of Music. He was a loving father and friend to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He pointed all to Jesus Christ, his Savior, and always put God and family first. He was happiest when he was with his quiver (family). Mr. Todd served in the U.S. Navy.

He leaves behind his precious family to mourn his passing, but looks forward to seeing them again because of the hope of Heaven in Jesus Christ, including three children, Lenora Schwabenbauer (Ken), Crystal M. Mullen (Timmy), and Henry W. “Hank” Todd, Jr. (Denise) all of Sumter; three grandsons, Richard W. Kirby (Suzie), Timothy L. “Tim” Kirby (Stephanie), and Timothy “T.J.” Mullen (Heather) all of Sumter; great-grandchildren, Payton, Hailey, Lawton, McKinley, Anniston, and Reed Kirby, Camdyn Mullen, and Henry Mullen his namesake, all of Sumter; step-grandchildren, T.J., Hunter, and Lakin Floyd all of Sumter; one sister, Ella Mae “Dolly” Pontillo of North Carolina; two special cousins, Joyce Brewington and Ruth Burgard both of North Carolina; a special niece, Sabrina Priske; a special nephew, Steve Pontillo; and his canine companion, Tootles that was a special gift.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law and dear friend, Tony Pontillo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hodge, Steve Pontillo, Kenny Mixon, Kenny Newman, Lee Pack and Frankie Newman. Wallace Hodge will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Mullen, 2101 N. Main St.
