Obituary for Sampson Lindburg Parker Sr.

Sampson L. Parker, Sr. 88, husband of Margaret Rogers Parker, died Monday, May 20, 2019 at Prisma Health-Tuomey.

Born April 27, 1931, in Clarendon County, he was the son of the late Wheeler Parker and the late Olivia Welch Parker. Mr. Parker retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant after 27 years of service, and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his retirement he owned and operated the Good Neighbor Mobile Home Park.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years; two sons, Sampson “Sammy” L. Parker, Jr. (Judy) of Lugoff and Keith D. Parker (Donna) of Sumter; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 12 noon Thursday in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Bowman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Home.
