Obituary

James “Jimmy” W. Holladay, Sr., 75, husband of Jerry Bryant Holladay, died Friday, May 17, 2019 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

Born November 4, 1943, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Herbert Holladay and the late Levennie Miles Holladay. Mr. Holladay was a member of Graham Baptist Church. He was also a member of Sumter Masonic Lodge #365. He retired from Santee Print Works and currently worked with Waste Management, Inc.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; a daughter, Robin H. Watson (Burke) of Sumter; a son, James “Jamie” W. Holladay, Jr. (Rene) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Brianna Gibson (Blair), Will Watson, Mary Grace Watson, Trey Holladay, and Emily Holladay; one great granddaughter, Hope Holladay Gibson; two sisters, Burnette Geddings of Manning, and Mary Frances Tobias (Leon) of Alcolu.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Graham Baptist Church with the Rev. John Patrick and the Rev. Blair Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Will Watson and Trey Holladay; grandson-in-law, Blair Gibson; and nephews, Larry Geddings, David Geddings, and Alvin Tobias.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Graham Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Burke and Robin Watson, 3325 Gristmill Lane, Sumter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Graham Baptist Church, 4000 Hwy 521 S., Sumter, SC 29153.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
