Janet Olsen Wheeler, 88, wife of William Walter “Walt” Wheeler, Sr., died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Morningside of Sumter.

Born July 17, 1930, in Pepperell, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Harold B. Olsen and the late Dorrice Bradish Olsen. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard D. Wheeler (Dani) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Will Wheeler (Keyes) of Bishopville, Ashleigh Newsome (Will) of Hartsville, and Kenton Wheeler (Casey) of Sumter; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elanor Crawford of CT and Margie Bineau (George) of ME.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Walter “Bill” Wheeler, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Suzanne Walker officiating. Burial will private.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
