Obituary for Anna Mood Baker (Brunson)

Anna Mood Brunson Baker, 91, widow of Claude F. Baker, Sr., died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at NHC Healthcare.

Born January 19, 1928, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late James B. Brunson and the late Ella Lou Brunson. She was a charter member of Lemira Presbyterian Church and retired from the Winn-Dixie after 35 years of service.

Survivors include three sons, Claude F. Baker, Jr. (Nancy), William B. Baker (Vicki), and Eddie M. Baker (Cindy) all of Sumter; five grandchildren, Karen Baker Phillips (Robert), Eddie “Tug” Baker, Jr. (Maura), Amy Baker, Dana Baker McCarty (Brett), and Erin Baker Peavy (Bruce); six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mary Brunson, Janet Brunson, and Christine Stidd; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Baker.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Brunson and Dreyfus Brunson.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Rowton officiating. Burial will be in the Brunson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude F. Baker, Jr.
