Obituary for James C Gainey
James C. Gainey, 86, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his residence.
Born July 4, 1932, in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Clinton Gainey and the late Annie Laney Gainey. He was a member of Lakeside Outreach Ministries Church. He was a retired roofer.
Survivors include three children, Michelle G. Geddings of Cumming, GA, Tammie G. Baker of Sumter, and Brian C. Gainey of Buford, GA; four grandchildren, Brandon Geddings, Jessie Baker, Ashley Baker, and Brittany Massa; a great-grandchild, Naomi Baker; and a sister, Shirley Mitchum (James) of Sumter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
