Obituary for Virgnina Brunk "Gin" Shirley
Virginia “Gin” Brunk Shirley, 97, widow of George E. Shirley, died Saturday, February 9, 2019, at her home.
Born October 2, 1921, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Christian DeWitt Brunk and the late Ida LeGrand Brunk. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include two nieces, Carol Phillips Kirven (Larry) of Sumter and Virginia Phillips Nasipak of Delray Beach, FL; six great nieces and nephews, David Alderman, Chris Alderman, Rev. Dr. Mark Clavier, Philip Clavier, Kimberly Gravely, and Travis McEwen; and caregiver, Deloris Purnell.
A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Steve Williams officiating.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
